The Adversary of Ignorance

An adversary is something or someone that opposes or stands in the way of achievement. Ignorance is simply not knowing what to do to please God or not knowing what God says must be done.

Faith is the only quality God is pleased with. Hebrews 11:6 Faith is the starting point of every Christian. Faith should and will lead you to conform to the requirements of God. If you don’t know what these requirements are, ignorance then becomes your adversary. You can’t do what you don’t know to do.

What you do not know or understand will become adversarial to the person wanting to know the will and purpose of God in their life. It’s impossible to believe in something you know nothing about.

Knowledge is knowing the facts, and the facts are the statements of Truth that are written in the book we call the Bible.

• All the Scriptures that are written in the Bible are inspired by God. 2 Timothy 3:16

• Every Word of God is pure. Proverbs 30:5

• The Bible says the Word of God is forever settled in heaven and that it endures forever. Psalms 119:89, 1 Peter 1:25

• Jesus said in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

It is only after all the facts of Book, Chapter, and Verse have been examined in the Bible can true Bible doctrine be established. The Scripture says that the preacher must be sent from God. Romans 10:13-15, John 3:34

There are many preachers in the pulpits of all kinds of Churches today that God has not called; they are false teachers and preachers. Jeremiah 23:31-32

There is only one message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that can save and give you Eternal Life. 2 Timothy 1:10, 1 Peter 1:25

This one message that brings Eternal Life is NOT the message being preached in many Churches today. The message has not changed. Acts 2:37-39

This is the message that the Apostles preached and taught wherever they went beginning on the Day of Pentecost. What the Bible says to one person, it says to every person. What it requires of one person, it requires of every person. What it does in one life, if allowed it will do in every life.

There are many people who attend Churches regularly who are ignorant of what the Word of God says, they are ignorant of what the Scriptures really mean.

The things that are believed in many Churches today are not based upon the Scriptures, but on man-made traditions that have been handed down through the years and are simply NOT Scriptural. It is the input of information from God’s Word that will determine the output of your life, your lifestyle, and your relationship with God.

When it comes to searching for the Truth, most Churchgoers prefer Scriptures that are familiar to them. They don’t read and study the Scriptures with the goal of building a solid Biblical foundation.

These kinds of Churchgoers are chronologically old because they may have been attending Church for many years, but they are spiritually immature because they have just not grown in their understanding of the Truth. Isaiah 28:9-10 The Scriptures tell us to take heed to what is being taught and to prove all things. 1 Timothy 4:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Many preachers do not understand what audience relevance is and how it affects the meaning of the Scriptures to us today. What is not taught in the pulpit will never show up in the pew.

The old saying is true, “What ceases to be preached ceases to be practiced.” The Bible tells us that whatever is sown is that which is reaped. Galatians 6:7

If compromise and worldliness and lack of Christian identity is sown, then a lifeless faith in God is what will be reaped. This is what is happening in our world today.

We can never return to the days of the Apostles in the first century, but we can return to the ways of the Apostles. We can teach and preach what they taught and preached.

The New Testament is Eternal and Everlasting; it has NO end. What God required in the beginning, He still requires today! Luke 24:47 Times have changed, but the Word of God never changes. Malachi 3:6, James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8

The problem with ignorance is that you do not know that you do not know.

You think that you are OK because that’s what your preacher told you. If what the preacher says does not line up with the Word of God, it is a lie. Romans 3:4

You can’t follow instructions if you don’t know what they are. Truth that is not sought after is seldom ever discovered. People that are not spirit-filled or led by the Spirit cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God in the Bible because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

You will never find what you are looking for until you search for it with all of your heart. Jeremiah 29:12-13

• Only thirsty people look for water to drink. Revelation 22:17

• Only hungry people look for something to eat. Matthew 5:6

Jesus said that learning was a process of studying and growing. Matthew 11:29, 2 Timothy 2:15

You cannot explain to others what you do not understand yourself.

Conclusion

Many people who attend Churches today do NOT study their Bible nor do they ever examine what is taught by their preachers to see if the things that are taught are even true.

They are those who just follow blindly their teachers. Matthew 15:14

Can you prove by the Scriptures that you are a Christian?

Did you get your salvation the same way that the first Church of the Book of Acts got their salvation? Acts 2:37-39

Do you have any Biblical proof or evidence that you have been born again according to the Scriptures?

• Ignorance can keep you out of Heaven.

• Ignorance can keep you away from Eternal Life.

• Ignorance can cost you your Eternity.

• Ignorance can be your greatest adversary.
